There are nice shell commands.
for a in `find . -name "*.jpg"`; do djpeg < $a > /dev/null || echo BAD $a; done;
. 5-17-03. Faster: djpeg is actually a faster
decoder if you have -scale 1/8
(test 0.50 s to 0.11 s),
and faster if you have -gr
[ayscale] (test 0.50 s to 0.23 s),
and also faster if you select the lower quality decode -fast
(test 0.50 to 0.31 s) option. This command then for checking JPEG files can be quickened
by changing "djpeg" to "djpeg -scale 1/8 -gr -fast" (test total
0.50 s to 0.10 s). The savings are large on a lot of files.Privacy, security.
I like to cd to the directory above, then reach the final destination by a single name with no path.
